Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could assist the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Planners parties.
