Mario's Galactic Adventure Teaser Debuts, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo and Illumination shared the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that highlighted the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
Following up on the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will transport Mario to the far corners of the universe. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
An Interstellar Journey Drawing from Classic Games
Much like the games from the Wii period that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some familiar faces, such as the Luma, a popular character from the first movie.
Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who reportedly utilizes powers related to metal. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also includes nods to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow
The feature will welcome back of the primary vocal talent, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
Mario's Major Moment
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut near the 40-year celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a major period for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles officially announced for the upcoming year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
